About WRLS...

Welcome to WRLS-FM radio and Vacationland Broadcasting, Inc. This profile will give you an idea of who and what we are, as well as how we can help you as a business and advertiser.

WRLS-FM is an established radio station serving our listening audience for over 38 years as a primary news, weather, and entertainment source. We operate at a frequency of 92.3 FM and our broadcast radius extends 50 miles from our studio location in Hayward, WI.

WRLS carries the undisputed title of "Sports Leader". Our coverage of local high school sports includes Hayward Hurricane boys and girl's basketball, football, hockey and baseball. Our national and collegiate sports include Milwaukee Brewer Baseball, Green Bay Packer Football, and Wisconsin Badger football and basketball.

Our community involvement goes much further than keeping the public informed. Often, we are only medium providing direct coverage of the areas largest events. We are proud to be media sponsors of the American Birkebeiner, Lumberjack World Championships, Musky Festival, WinterFest, Fall Festival and Fat Tire Festival..

FACT: Radio remains to be the primary information source for local news, weather, sports and information in our listening area. Newspapers are weekly or "shoppers", while TV newscasts are state and regional in coverage.

HOW IT WORKS

National research has shown that targeting your customers through demographics is a great place to start, but a terrible place to stop. In short, whether you are an advertiser in Chicago or in Northern Wisconsin, there is a lot more to the marketing landscape than just age and sex data.

Information gained through in-depth perceptual studies shows us that radio listeners tend to polarize towards their favorite type of station. They may listen to several stations on a weekly basis, but they will spend 75 PERCENT OF THEIR TIME WITH THEIR FAVORITE RADIO STATION.

Web users also are logging on more frequently and spending more time online, says NetRatings. In July, the average Net user spent 10 hours and 19 minutes online, up from nine hours and 41 minutes in July 2000. Two years ago, Nielsen's numbers showed the average during July was just seven hours and 39 minutes. Source: USA Today, 8/14/01

If an advertiser could reach a majority of their target demographic with one investment, they would tap both the width and depth of their customer base and achieve the benefits of what advertising agencies now know as "Optimum Effective Scheduling."

With one easy transaction, you can put the power of Northern Wisconsin's Most Listened Too Radio Station on your payroll, making literally thousands of "sales calls" for your business every day.
