Announcer - Sports Director

I put the key in the door to open WRLS when it went on the air April 16th, 1968 and have been here ever since. That either makes me a seasoned veteran professional or just some old guy that keeps showing up. I have been the host of the morning show for over 35 years handling all the jobs that a morning guy does. My main job is to make sure that most area residents get work on time every day. I handled Hayward Hurricane sports play by play from day one and along with my broadcast partner Doug Beck retired from sportscating after 2,000+ games together. Father of two grown children, Carrie and Brent.  You can reach me by email at wrls@cheqnet.net.

Sportscaster - New Voice of Hurricane Sports on WRLS

Dave Tindell is a familiar name for Heart o’North sports fans, having covered the league extensively while working at WJMC-FM in Rice Lake from 1991-99. Prior to arriving at WJMC, Tindell covered UW-Stout sports for WMEQ-AM in 1990-91 and UW-La Crosse for WKTY/WSPL from 1982-90. His sports broadcasting experience includes a total of nine state high school championship games in football, boys and girls basketball, hockey and baseball. While in La Crosse, Tindell was at the microphone for fifteen UW-L football playoff games from California to Pennsylvania, including three national championship games. Our goal at WRLS is to give our audience a first-class listening experience, bringing the excitement of Hurricane sports into the cars and homes of the Hayward area. If you can’t make it to the game, we’ll make it seem like you’re there.”
